Using Synthetic Remote Sensing Indicators to Monitor the Land Degradation in a Salinized Area

چکیده
Land degradation poses a critical threat to the stability and security of ecosystems, especially in salinized areas. Monitoring land areas facilitates management ecological restoration. In this research, we integrated salinization index (SI), albedo, normalized difference vegetation (NDVI) surface soil moisture (LSM) through principal component analysis (PCA) method establish (SDI). Based on SDI, typical area Central Asia Amu Darya delta (ADD) was analysed for period 1990–2019. The results showed that proposed SDI had high positive correlation (R2 = 0.89, p < 0.001) with salt content based field sampling, indicating can reveal characteristics ADD. indicated extreme strong increased from 1990 2019, mainly downstream peripheral regions From 2000, improvement over larger than developed, conversely, 2000 especially, 2010, proportion developed 32%, which concentrated region spatial autocorrelation values Moran’s I 1990, 2010 2019 were 0.82, 0.78, 0.82 0.77, respectively, suggesting notably clustered space rather randomly distributed. expansion unused due use change, water withdrawal River discharge all contributed This study provides several valuable insights into monitoring similar settings worldwide.

Analyzing the Spatial Pattern of Drought in Central and South Zagros Using Remote Sensing Indicators
Introduction: As a complex phenomenon occurring due to a long period of poor precipitation, drought causes water scarcity in the soil and the hydrological system via hydrological, bringing about long-term consequences which may lead to severe economic, environmental, and social problems worldwide. Droughts are classified into four types: meteorological (rainfall), agricultural (soil’s moisture)...
متن کاملRemote Sensing Based Assessment of Biophysical Indicators for Land Degradation and Desertification
Desert ecosystems spanning moisture conditions from dry grasslands to barren hyper-arid landscapes are the largest terrestrial biome with more than 40% of the terrestrial landmass. Remote sensing data provide an efficient costeffective means to assess biophysical indicators of land degradation and desertification, providing that essential ecosystem properties can be monitored. We review the spe...
متن کاملLand cover land use mapping and change detection analysis using geographic information system and remote sensing
Land cover/land use categories are relevant components in land management. Understanding how land cover/land use change over time is necessary to assess the consequences of humans and natural stressors on the earth’s environment and resources. The aim of the study was to map and monitor the spatial and temporal change in land cover/land use for the periods of 1977, 1991 and 2016 and to predict ...
